I began my career in clinical social work at Johns Hopkins Hospital, working as an Oncology Social Worker. I worked with bone marrow transplant patients and their families. Cancer and chronic illness continue to be an area of clinical interest and expertise for me.

I then moved to the Boston area, working as a crisis clinician and outpatient therapist in community mental health. Here I gained expertise in diagnosis and treatment of all major mental illnesses. I also participated in on-going training seminars in trauma, grief and loss, and psychoanalysis.

I have lived in Ann Arbor with my family since 1998. I began working at St. Francis Catholic parish in the Counseling Assistance Program and am now the program's Director. I also have a private practice in Ann Arbor.

My interest in sexuality grew out of my work with couples. My training as a certified sex therapist has helped me to more fully understand the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects of a person.

My theory of practice seeks to integrate the major psychological theories of psychoanalysis, attachment theory, trauma theory, grief and loss theory, and interpersonal neurobiology.
